September Chapter Meeting - CBAP Information Panel

We hope you enjoyed the summer! Our chapter meetings commence again this fall!

The Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) designation is a professional certification for individuals with extensive business analysis (BA) experience. With a minimum of 7500 hours of hands-on BA experience, CBAP ® recipients are the elite, senior members of the BA community. There are two other IIBA BA certifications for those with fewer hands-on hours. Join us on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019, for an information-packed CBAP panel discussion with Joel Ohringer Sallie Ewen and Andrei Kholodkov! 

Last year, the IIBA Seattle Chapter hosted two IIBA BABOK study groups. Nearly 60 industry professionals joined our study groups, and several earned IIBA certifications. At our September meeting, three certified CBAP®s will join a panel discussion and share their study group learning experience/ their personal study plans, the exam experience, and techniques they found most useful. They will also speak to how they leverage the learning and CBAP® certification to move their career path to the next milestone.

Panelists:

Joel Ohringer is a Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP ®) with over 20 years of experience. This includes performing analysis work on digital transformation initiatives, managing process change, modeling UX/UI design, and acting as Business Analyst for many IT projects. As VP of Professional Development led multiple study BABOK® study groups, helping others attain their certification. He is currently chapter President.

Sallie Ewen is an Enterprise Program Manager at T-Mobile.  She has over 20 years of business and IT experience in Retail, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Distribution & Logistics, and Finance.  She leads teams that deliver large scale, organizational transformations and complex IT projects with budgets over $60M.  Sallie has been a business analyst, developer, project manager, portfolio manager, and software delivery manager for world class companies including Nordstrom, Nike, CNF Transportation, General Motors, Brown Shoe Company and Boeing.

She is currently supporting the B2B Portfolio for the upcoming T-Mobile and Sprint merger. Sallie graduated with Final Honors from Washington University in St. Louis with her Master of Science degree in Information Management and holds several certifications including the PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, and CBAP®.

Andrei Kholodkov is a Senior Product Manager at SAP Concur. He has 15 years of software development experience in Russia in various roles SDE, SDM, BA, PM and product senior director eventually. Launched two travel related products in Russian B2B travel market: Raketa.travel business trip booking tool and Bronevik.com hotel booking engine and distribution platform. Created software development department for the travel management company. Andrei moved to US and joined SAP Concur since December 2018 as a senior product manager and he is pioneering the event driven architecture in his organization. 

Andrei holds misc certifications including CBAP, PMP, AWS CP and is passionate about business travel. He is also an author and administrator of CBAP preparation cannel for Russian speaking audience in Telegram.

April Sun is a Lead Business Analyst at Boston Consulting Group. She serves at IIBA Seattle as the VP of Professional Development. She has over 14 years of professional experience in IT software and service industry with hands on experience in technology management consulting, product managment, product design, Agile Scrum, IT service managment, operational excellence and advanced data analytics. Her current focus is on providing Business driven IT solutions in advanced analytical product design in marketing, sales and pricing area. ​​

April holds several certifications including the COBIT, ITIL V3, Togaf Enterprice Architect, Zachman Framework, Agile Scrum Master, Scrum Product Owner, Lean Six Sigma BB, ISO internal auditor, and etc.
